“Big Island condo sales up 25%” 

(If you are a buyer, this may be the time to get in.  A bottom is not technically in, but when you see this % increase, it is a leading edge indicator that prices have reached a value that is motivating buyers to get in.  Unfortunately if you are a seller, prices are still declining. The year-to-date figures show the same pattern for condo sales and prices, with sales volume up 69 percent and the median price, at $265,000, down 11 percent, according to Hawaii Information Service data. Homes sales for the first nine months of the year were up 30 percent, while the median price of $255,000 was down 4 percent.  Go ahead on the Big Island, but go ONLY with a pro and realize there may be more downward movement before the bottom is firmly in… In the long-term, don’t worry about timing the bottom, go on in-TAUGA)
